TOPPERS PIZZA TOP PERFORMER AWARD FOR NOVEMBER

Rayside Balfour Canadians veteran junior goaltender DAVID BOWEN is November’s winner of the TOPPERS PIZZA TOP PERFORMER AWARD. Bowen sported a 1-3-1 win-loss-OT loss record along with a sparkling goals against average of 2.81 which ranks the Unionville native 4th in the NOJHL in the Top Goaltender category.

Bowen began the 2020-21 NOJHL season with the unenviable task of playing 5 out of 6 games against the NOJHL’s top-ranked Timmins Rock team in the covid-delayed season.

Bowen, who turned 20 years of age in November, has recorded a solid .916 save percentage and ranks 2nd in the league in ‘shots against.’ Bowen has played the most minutes of all NOJHL goaltenders so far this season with 299 minutes played.

In addition to his full-time role with the Canadians, Bowen is studying Sports Administration at Laurentian University. Bowen, who was drafted by the OHL Sudbury Wolves back in 2015, earned a career-highlight back on February 23rd of 2020 when he shut-out the #1 ranked team in the CHL – the Ottawa 67’s – by a score of 2-0.

Bowen and his Canadians teammates will continue to practice this week at the Chelmsford Arena as they prepare to play the Blind River Beavers in a 4-game series prior to the Christmas break. Fans can follow the team on HOCKEYTV.COM or on EASTLINK TV.
