The Canadians are very proud to announce that team captain Brady Maltais will further his education and hockey career with the ACHA Division 1 Lindenwood University Lions next season. The 20-year-old forward has been an integral part of the Canadians organization for the last 4 years and is excited for his new opportunity: “I’m just really excited to have a chance to continue to play hockey and to be able to do it while completing my education is awesome.”
Over his career with Rayside, Maltais suited up in 184 total games, totalling 47 goals and 75 assists for 122 points. He has been an important part of the penalty kill throughout his entire time with the team and has also been a very strong faceoff man for the Canadians. He has been a leader on and off the ice and could always be seen volunteering in the community.
“I’ve been very grateful and fortunate to play my junior career for a first-class organization like the Canadians. They have helped me grow as a young man and hockey player. I have made many lifelong friends and was able to achieve some of my childhood dreams here. I want to give a special thank you to all of the coaches, staff, management and the Burgess family for making my junior experience something special,” said Maltais.
The Canadians would like to thank Brady for all he has done for the organization and wish him nothing but the best for the rest of his final season with the team and beyond as he begins his new journey at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.
