Canadians acquire Woolcott from Wildcats

By: Grant Trayner

CHEMLSFORD, ON – The Rayside-Balfour Canadians have made a deal with the Elliot Lake Wildcats to acquire forward Taylor Woolcott (Mississauga, ON) in exchange for defenceman Dawson Garcia (Oakville, ON).

This season with the Wildcats the Mississauga native has two goals and eight assists in 15 games. Woolcott will add experience and age to the Canadians lineup as he is a 1997 birth year and is in his final season of junior hockey and has spend time with the Brampton Bombers of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) before coming to Elliot Lake last season.

Woolcott will make his Canadians debut tomorrow evening against the Espanola Express . Puck drop is set for 7:30 pm and the game is available on HockeyTV. On Sunday evening he will make his home debut against the Soo Eagles  with a game start slated for 6:30 pm

With the Canadians Garcia had a goal and assist in 11 games along with 26 minutes in penalties. Garcia was acquired in the off-season from the Ancaster Avalanche of the GOJHL.

The Canadians would also like to thank Dawson for his time and service with us and wish him the best of luck with the Wildcats.
