SUDBURY, ON.- The Rayside Balfour Canadians hosted the Elliot Wildcats Sunday December 15th at the Chelmsford Arena. Prior to the game the Canadians honoured a proud local supporter of the team. Belanger Construction are one of our longest serving and generous team sponsors. Ron Belanger & Belanger Construction are strong supporters of the development of young people in our community through organizations like the Rayside Balfour Canadians.

Over the years, Ron & his organization have been proud supporters of local sports teams, the Chelmsford Lions Club, the local food bank, and Café Musique—just to name a few. On behalf of Belanger Construction Paulette Brisson was welcomed and presented with a plaque of appreciation and flowers.

We would like to thank Paulette Brisson and everyone at Belanger Construction for their outstanding contributions to the local community in Rayside Balfour.

It was a winning night all around as your Canadians defeated the Elliot Lake Wildcats with a score of 5-2. Elliot Lake started out strong with back to back goals from Joseph Pacana in the first period. Not long after Mitchell Martin got Rayside on the board twelve minutes into the 1st. Rayside didn’t stop there. Dylan Bertrand, Joel Mongeon, Samuel Vachon and Gavin Brown all notched a goal to bring the final of the game to 5-2.

Rayside is looking to remain in the win column on Thursday December 19th, 2019 when they host the rivals from down the highway the Espanola Express. Game time is 7:00pm. It is our Charity Food Bank Game sponsored by The Royal Bank of Canada. The Royal Bank will be accepting non-perishable food items and giving those who donated a chance to win a basket courtesy of The Royal Bank.
