Head Coach & General Manager - Dave Clancy

Dave is entering his second season as Head Coach and General Manager with the Canadians. Previously Dave was an assistant coach with the Laurentian University Voyageurs. Dave has NOJHL experience coaching the Sudbury Jr. Wolves and Sudbury Nickel Barons and has won the NOJHL Copeland Cup twice in 2005-06 and 2007-08. In 2006 Dave helped guide the Jr Wolves to a Dudley Hewitt Cup where they lost the Fort William North Stars in overtime.  Dave has also been on OHL scout for the Sudbury Wolves and the Oshawa Generals and was the long time coach of the Sudbury Lockerby Confectionery Bantam AAA hockey team. Many players have advanced to the next level of hockey with it being OHL, QMJHL, NCAA, ECHL, and European Leagues.   Dave has been happily married to his wife Karen for 26 years and has a son Eric. In the offseason Dave enjoys spending time at his camp.

Assistant General Manager  - Grant Trayner

Grant is entering his third year with the Canadians/Nickel Barons as Assistant General Manger . He is currently a third year honours Sports Administration Student at Laurentian University in Sudbury. Currently, Grant is the youngest person holding a management position in the NOJHL. During this season Grant developed a comprehensive hot dog ranking on the arena canteens in the NOJHL. It can been seen on his twitter account. In addition to his role with the Canadians Grant also assists with the Big Nickel International Hockey Tournament in Sudbury.

Assistant Coach - Vagelli Sakellaris

This was Vagelli's first season coaching in the NOJHL and with the Canadians. Vagelli played for the franchise in its first year when it was known as the Sudbury Northern Wolves in 2000-01. Last season Vagelli coached the Sudbury Peewee AAA Wolves to a provincial birth and a NOHL final. Vagelli previously has been an assistant coach with the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves Midget AAA where he has been to two Telus Cups and won 2008 Championship.  Vagelli has a wife Tara, and two sons. He is a teacher at Lasalle Secondary School in Sudbury. You may see him time to time assisting at the Applo Resturant on the Kingsway. 

Assistant Coach - Barrie Moore

Barrie is a former Sudbury Wolves player and NHL player with the Washington Capitals, Buffalo Sabres, and the Edmonton Oilers. This will be Barrie's first season coaching the Canadians. Away from the rink Barrie is a firefighter with the Sudbury Fire Department and has a wife and two daughters. 

Head Scout and Director of Scouting - Zack Schipper

Zack Schipper enters his first year as the Head Scout of the Rayside Balfour Canadians. Zack earned an Honours degree in Sport Management from Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. He has also studied at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Zack was formally an opposition scout for the Pelham Panthers Jr. B team in the GOJHL. He is currently a player scout with both Uptown Sports Management and PPI Hockey. His ability to scout and develop elite young hockey players has led to numerous individuals progressing to the next level of their hockey careers. Zack joins the Rayside Balfour organization hoping to bring the most elite talent to the Canadians and to aid in the development of all its players."

Adrian Gedye - President/Team Owner

This will be Adrians second season as president/ team owner of the Canadians. Adrian has extensive knowledge in sports as a player agent/family adviser with Uptown Sports and being the previous owner of Pinnacle Sports in Lively. Adrian saw he need to devlop a minor midget program in Sudbury and was the manager of the Sudbury/CopperCliff/Nickel City minor midget teams.  Adrian has a wife Mia and three sons Tyler, Evan and Mathew. He enjoys fishing.
